About Me

My name is Elliott Edmondson, I am a 29 year old professional co-driver. Since 2022, I have been co-driving for Oliver Solberg, competing in the WRC, most recently for Toksport World Rally Team, in the WRC2 category at the wheel of a Skoda Fabia RS Rally2.

Having been brought up around the rally scene from a very early age I began competing at 15. Starting out in the road rally and endurance road rally scene before progressing into stage rallying in 2010.

2011 saw my first full season in stage rallying. Alongside further road rallies, I contested stage rallies in a variety of cars alongside a number of drivers including BTRDA 1400 champion Matt Edwards.

Throughout 2012 I competed on 18 stage rallies across three major championships (British Rally Championship Challenge, BTRDA forest series and the Scottish Rally Championship) including my first foreign event, the Eifel Rallye in Germany.

2013 saw my rallying progress to a higher level, being selected to be part of the MSA Academy where I received training from legendary co-driver Nicky Grist. 2013 also saw my first experience in a World Rally Car. Throughout the season I co-drove for a number of high profile drivers within the REIS asphalt championship. During the year, I also achieved my first overall Win and 4 top 10 finishes as well as making my WRC debut on Wales Rally GB.

2014 Was another successful year for myself, teaming back up with 4-time REIS asphalt champion Damian Cole, we managed to claim the overall championship together (Damian’s 5th consecutive) along the way taking 3 rally victories. Alongside my campaign with Damian Cole, I also joined the Skoda RedBull China rally team sitting with 2005 PWRC champion and 2003 JWRC 3rd place finisher, Niall McShea. Together, competing in the Chinese Rally Championship in a Skoda Fabia S2000, we scored a best finish of 2nd overall on the Zhangye Rally, sadly the remaining two events of the season we failed to finish due to mechanical failures. At the end of the season I also joined the Simpsons Skoda rally team sitting alongside Neil Simpson in another Fabia S2000, together we contested the Condroz rally in Belgium finishing a solid 10th overall.

For 2015, I took the leap to the World Stage as I first partnered young British driver Gus Greensmith. Together we first contested the Circuit of Ireland in the Junior ERC, ahead of a full campaign in the Drive DMACK fiesta trophy which took place over 5 rounds of the World Rally Championship in identical Ford Fiesta R2T cars run by WRC team M-Sport. We went on to win the rookie championship.

After taking a year to re-structure, 2016 saw the return of the British Rally Championship and with this being of huge interest to many people and teams around Europe it made sense for me to return to UK rallying. I re-joined Simpsons Skoda Motorsport as we made the UK debut for the Skoda Fabia R5. Later in the year I also formed a new partnership with young British driver Chris Ingram, together we contested the Junior European Rally Championship (ERC) with the Opel Motorsport factory team. Chris and I continued into 2017 for a second year in the ERC and we went on to secure the Junior ERC Championship title win.

2018 was the busiest year so far, teaming up with young British driver, Rhys Yates. We contested a mixed program containing BRC (British), ERC (European) and WRC (World) events totalling 13 rallies in a Skoda Fabia R5. Alongside these events, I also worked closely with WRC crew Elfyn Evans and Dan Barritt. I completed a few roles within the team, including co-driving for Elfyn in the latest spec 2018 Ford Fiesta WRC car on a number of tests, as well as working alongside Gwyndaf Evans, providing Route Note Crew services on the Tarmac rounds of the WRC.
